Light Part 2: Transparency, Brightness of Light Source & Reflection
Duration: About 1 hour
Students will first learn to recognize opaque, transparent and translucent materials. They will investigate transparency of materials using an MGA datalogger with a light sensor as well as investigate how the distance of a light source affects brightness using an MGA datalogger with a light sensor. They will recognize reflection of light and how an object can be seen, as well as investigate reflection by various materials using an MGA datalogger with a light sensor. They will also learn how to handle relevant concept-application questions and further develop their process skills and thinking skills. The process skills that will be developed through this lesson are: Observing, Comparing, Classifying, Using datalogger equipment, Inferring and Analyzing.
